The fourth generation of the „sphinx open online“ visualization platform from in-GmbH (www.in-gmbh.de) is now available. Release 4.0 was introduced in time for the HANOVER TRADE FAIR and features functional optimizations and new features. The new features integrated include adapters for OPC-UA and weather data, as well as service interfaces for OEMs that allow vertical applications to be created. These new features support the Internet of Things and work in line with Industry 4.0.
sphinx open online is a visualization platform for Internet of Things applications. For example, the software forms the technological basis for online visualization of the Smart Electronic Factory – a demonstration and evaluation environment for Industry 4.0 scenarios. sphinx open online visualizes this factory realistically in 3D.
Thanks to the new features offered in V4.0, applications of this kind associated with the fourth industrial revolution are supported. For example, the newly integrated OPC/UA adapter allows machines to be connected directly. This then provides managers with information that helps them to make the correct decisions. The sphinx open 3D Composer enables existing 3D models to be structured and enhanced, as well as real data to be integrated. Statuses and positions of sensors, actuators and moving objects can be displayed in the customizable user interface and, if necessary, also controlled. The sphinx open apps for 2D and 3D are available on various end devices and allow critical value changes to be displayed in real time, as well as interactions. This enables those responsible to grasp situations quickly and make decisions.
Focus on user friendliness and functionality
Important new features in V4.0 include automated reporting based on any reporting template, as well as various usage statistics for consumption-based service invoicing and the accompanying integration options for OEM applications in the HMI. The extended web service interfaces for OEMs allow vertical applications to be created. Numerous usability improvements have also been implemented in the Designer, which is now also international. In addition to this, in-GmbH has integrated new functions for calculated data points, historization and data import. Overall, the platform has become easier and more convenient to use, while supporting new business models on the customer side and Industry 4.0 scenarios even more effectively.
