in-GmbH announces the launch of its new online portal at www.sphinx-open.de. The website provides dedicated information and access to sphinx open, which is used by customers in various sectors as an Internet of Things platform. sphinx open is an end-to-end service that covers everything from data connection, through rapid app design, all the way to user management and provision of the application. Solution providers in the fields of MES, FM, energy management, logistics, etc. use sphinx open as a component of their solutions. This allows innovative graphic HMIs to be created for end customers. The integration of external users also gives rise to attractive business models.
With sphinx open, machines, buildings and systems can be visualized in either 2D or 3D, linked to real data sources via drag-and-drop and integrated into business processes. For example, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) uses sphinx open to monitor ground-based systems. The solution also forms an integral part of the Smart Electronic Factory set up by Limtronik in its electronics factory, where it is used to visualize Industry 4.0 applications. In addition, within the scope of the Smart Energy Hub platform project, functions for forecast-based and market-based energy management are added to sphinx open. The Smart Energy Hub recently received a subsidy from Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
This means that sphinx open can be used in numerous scenarios: It shows the status of systems and allows them to be controlled, as well as performing facility management and making energy flows visible or issuing warnings in the event of critical deviations. sphinx open can therefore open up new opportunities, such as for service providers in the energy sector.
Creating IoT apps quickly and easily
The new website not only provide an overview of all products, but also offers anyone interested and OEM customers the opportunity in the login section to design individual IoT apps both quickly and affordably. Downloading the “Designer” allows apps to be generated very quickly without the need for any programming, data to be connected and all of this then to be made available to the end customer via the app store. The applications created with sphinx open can run in a browser or as an app on iOS, Android and Windows Phone. The benefit of apps: Practical push notifications, e.g. for service staff.
“With the dedicated website for our sphinx open product, we are enabling customers to quickly get started in the field of monitoring with attractive visualization and operation – whether from the cloud or on-premises. At the same time, as a product manufacturer we also offer our clients consulting services to ensure that optimum overall solutions are created. We continue to integrate the product into specific applications, extend solutions that are currently in use and much more,” explained Siegfried Wagner, CEO at in-GmbH.
